Night Out Quito:
-->Back to daily
adventures
Many of our adventures can be linked by enjoying a night out of
Quito.
To the north of Quito we recommend the ancient and peaceful Hacienda
Guachala near Cayambe. This is the oldest hacienda in Ecuador, located
in an area of great natural beauty and tranquillity. The surrounding
countryside has a very high proportion of Indigenous farms, and
is also rich in pre-Inca remains, so both the hiking and horse ridding
are very special. To really live the atmosphere of the market
at Otavalo we recommend the Hotel La Coraza, right in the center
of town.
To the south of Quito we recommend the Hacienda La Cienega. The
surrounding area is rich, intensively farmed countryside, and the
views from the hacienda of the surrounding snow capped peaks are
stunning. The hacienda is convenient for the lively Thursday market
at Saquisili and the Cotopaxi National Park.
Beside the railway line at Machachi the Hosteria La Estacion provides
really comfortable accommodation, great food and the chance to travel
to Quito or Riobamba by train.
